How it all began—Our story

Written by the Founder

Back in 2022, just months after my first son was born, I needed something more flexible to provide for my family. I was new to being a husband and father, plus my wife and I were thick in the middle of our undergraduate studies. I worked as a food delivery driver.

Another student, Ben, was also studying Computer Science and one day shared how he had built several websites for businesses in the area. My interest was piqued, so I asked him several questions. Hearing Ben talk about his website design ventures was inspiring. He shared just enough information to help me understand the tools I would need to get started.

I wasn’t technical and knew hardly anything about website design, but I loved the ideas of working with and learning from business owners. So, I began sitting at the Casper College Library trying to create my own website.

And… it… was… terrible. I couldn’t get anything to function properly no matter how hard I tried. Day after day, I spent weeks and various attempts to build something presentable. Oh, how I’m grateful my wife supported me even from those early months when I would come home and there was no progress to be made.

I pounded away endlessly at that code, trying to work out bugs. I started to understand the terms website hosting, DNS records, SSL certificates, wire-framing, WordPress, and backend development. This wasn’t the quickest way to learn, but it was a really valuable experience.

There were a lot of obstacles in my way, but I believed that this path—business website design—would eventually be a blessing for my family and community.

I struggled to make headway, until my younger sister helped me land a job as a pizza delivery. My plan was to win the owner’s trust and build them a free, improved website. Their existing website was horrible and expensive, so it would help them and add one real project to my portfolio.

It took me an entire summer to build the pizza restuarant a new website, but the plan worked! I blessed the business and had my first project live, with hundreds of visitors every month.

There have been many miracles since the, and I am proud to say—helping business owners has been a dream come true.

Business Website Design LLC has been operating for years, and we will continue to develop websites and help business owners grow their ventures for decades to come.
